In the beginning....
A Fistful of Stamps started in 2001 as a part time mail order business
based in Wichita, KS featuring the art work of Justin Miller, Anne Porter,
"Great Maxi" and
"Grover." Justin's brother Jason
Miller later came along and built our first generation
website.
Sales where slow at first,
but as the website grew and more visitors stopped in, our sales
steadily increased.
|
 |
New designs were added, and Jason even turned his creative
energies towards designing new images. Things grew to beyond what
Justin could handle by himself alone, so Jason stepped in and
took A Fistful of Stamps under the wing of his graphics company,
Kamikazi Graphics Bureau.
Now with more assets &
available resources for expansion, A Fistful of Stamps continued
to move forward. |

|

 |
|
By 2004, A Fistful of Stamps had over 1000
images available.
Even so, we're still small-fry in the eyes of our competitors,
but we're not trying to be the biggest stamp company...
Someday that, we hope to be considered one of the best!

|
In early 2005, after four
years of continuous operations the bomb got dropped.
Due to family obligations Justin was required to move out of
state, leaving Jason and the remaining Posse to figure out how
to keep things going with out Justin being on site.
Justin up to this point had been the main man for production,
and order fulfillment.
|
|

Something had to be done, so
we put our operation on a temporary hold so we could accommodate
moving, and reorganizing, and figure out how to emerge from the unplanned
split herd we
found ourselves in. We've done so, and we are
proud to be back in the saddle!
|
|
For those of you who were inconvenienced by our temporary
halt in our operations during 2005, we sincerely apologize.
However we think a short term pause is certainly a better
alternative to folding up shop, packing our toys, and going
home.
We're
not quitting!

LaVonne DeBoer (aka Von and known in other circles
as "Mom") came along and joined our rag tag group
of stamping scounrels. She's now leading our
Customer Service Team. LaVonne is now responsible for
the bulk of production and order fulfillment. (That's
one of them big college words for "shippin' stuff.")
She'll most like be the one you'll get on the phone, and the
one who builds, packs, and ships your order.
Be nice to her, she packs heat! Justin remains on the Fistful of Stamps team as lead
designer, operating from a remote location near Sugar Hill,
GA.
Jason is still kickin' up
dust clouds as the dang blasted website guru, logistics planner, and bag man. (er...
uh... we mean to say, he runs the money side of the shop.)
Yes Mr. Mayor, we plan to keep our company in
Wichita. |
|
During the down time caused by the move, we've taken the
time to relocate our stock and set up shop in a new
facility. We've reorganized our people (the few
of us we have anyway), and
streamlined our operation (we gotten rid of empty boxes) to be more efficient and reduce
our environmental impact. We've also
overhauled our website moving to a
more robust e-commerce engine and constantly striving to
improve not only the website but our products and customer
service. We hope to always be moving
forward, never resting on yesterdays accomplishments.
 |
|
We've taking steps to handle more capacity, improve our website
visitors online experience,
and pretty much make things better for the community we live in.
Yes, we want peace on Earth and...
OH WHO'S KIDDING
WHO ? We're not trying out for the Miss
Umerika Pageant! We're gun totin' stamp slingin'
hombres with a mission: To get our stamps into your
hot little hands, heap PRONTO!
So get off you duff and buy
some!

Our future is bright. Despite the many
challenges that exist to a small company these days (or even
a micro company like ours) we see much opportunity ahead.
In the future, we will continue our convention schedule and
release an updated Catalog which will be available by mail,
and by download in electronic PDF format.
All of our latest additions to our designs will be
available. We expect to introduce more
than 100 new images this year...
Come back often, and be a part of our history by being
part of our future!
Please pardon our mess as we improve things
around the homestead! [
