FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

B-58 Hustler Stamp

At A Fistful of Stamps we don't mess with no high powered thinkin'.... we tell it like it is... no guff!
Here's a list of our most common and frequently asked questions... and answers too!

Q. Why over the last few months has it been so hard to get in touch with you by e-mail.
A. We've had a problem with our e-mail server, we've been targeted by the evil minions of the SPAM overlord who declared war on us about a year ago.    Seems them SPAMMERS don't like us sayin' bad stuff about 'em.     We've stepped up our anti-spam defence, but if for some reason you still can get through...  try callin' on the phone or hollerin' out the wind'er.

Q. Why did y'all move?
A. Contrary to popular belief, we didn't move do to eminent domain abuse by the local government.    Our previous location became unavailable when Justin had to move for family reasons.   So we packed up and moved to Von's place... where we have our new happy home!      Hey, listen now... the PO Box is still the same...

Q. What's wrong with your phone?
A. During the move we had to ditch our TOLL FREE number.    We were unable to keep our local number due to some technical hub-bub, but we're back in the toll free call business...

Here's the digits amigo:

Q. What happened to Justin?
A. Well we wish we could tell you something adventurous like, "Oh he got mauled by a tiger..." or "He's prospecting for gold in Cheyenne country."   Unfortunately it's not that glamorous.    Justin moved for family reasons to the Atlanta area, while the rest of our posse is remaining here in Wichita KS.  We've picked up the pieces and moved the operation, to Von's place.    No, for you folks in California we're not talking about the grocery store.    Von's is a home on the range where we  have room to put all our goods, build new stamps, and handle the day to day operations of this here enterprise.

Q. Who played "Lumpy" on Leave it to Beaver ?
A. Why this question is so frequently asked, we're not sure.   But if you must know it was Frank Bank.    Learn more...

Q. When will my order ship?
A. Lately, we've been shipping most orders within about 36 hours provided the items are in stock.  Some orders may take longer.  We're making every effort to keep our website database up to date so that back orders are less likely to occur.    If an item is out of stock, we will contact you and inquire about your wishes on how to proceed.

Q. How do you ship orders?
A. Most order ship via United States Postal Service Priority Mail.

We use Delivery Confirmation™ options, and will send you an e-mail when your order ships, and provide you with a confirmation number to track your shipment at www.USPS.com.

Other shipping methods vary depending on the size of the order.
Large orders of mounted stamps often ship via UPS ground due to weight.

For international orders we ship with DHL, FedEx, USPS,
Airborne Express, UPS, and in some cases... carrier pigeon.

Q. What is QuickView?
A. QuickView is a product browsing option that either speeds up your shopping, or provides more detail on product pages, and search results pages.    Click here for more information.

Q. How should I take care of my stamps?
A. Well that's a darn good question... first off... don't chew on 'em or light them on fire or use them as packing material for shipping water melons...    Second... take a look here for our TOP 10 list of STAMP CARE TIPS.

Q. What's the difference between mounted, and un-mounted stamps?
A. The first thing you'll notice is the cost...    We sell our un-mounted stamps at half the cost of our fully mounted stamps.   That's for good reason...  there's a lot less work and resources in an un-mounted stamp.  An un-mounted stamp is just the rubber die, while a mounted stamp is the whole sha-bang...   rubber die, cushion, and fully indexed wood mount.    (Indexed means, we hand stamped the image of the image on the top of the wood mount.    Nifty, eh?)

e anatomy of a stamp:

All you ever wanted to know about how a rubber stamp is made... and more.

Q. Where can I get mounts for my un-mounted rubber art stamps?
A. We highly recommend acrylic mounts by Stamp-In-Ink.       www.Stampinink.com

Q. Does your website work with WebTV?
A. Ya know Bill Gates is a pretty cool guy, but some of our web design folks want to bend his knees the wrong way for making that darn WebTV.  Ok, here's the deal, our current site is designed to work well with screen resolutions from 640x480 pixels all the way up to the big whoppers...1280 and up.

WebTV is done on a regular tv, which in theory has 640x480 NTSC standards.   Oh yeh, the geek speak has just gotten started.... fasten your seat belts and keep both your arms and legs inside the vehicle.    WebTV actually has usable resolution of about
544 × 372 when you get done with all the interface features...   so.... how about we cut to the chase.... Yes the site works with WebTV, but... we make no guarantees about the look and feel.    This goes for WebTV, MSN tv, and any other tv-web viewing appliance.

Q. What's with all the bullet holes on your website?
A. We suspect it's the same phenomenon that occurs with rural road signs.

Q. What are these "model bases" and what do they have to do with stamping?
A. Model Bases are support items for displaying scale models and small miniature collectables like military figures. They've got nothing to do with stamping, but we do offer them because Justin, one of our stampin' banditos, happens to be a science fiction modeler. One day he needed a base for a model he was working on and thought maybe one of our wood blocks we use for rubber stamp mounts would do the job.   It turns out it worked quite well, and others took a liking to the "base."   We now offer these model bases due to popular demand!

Q. Why does my credit card statement show a charge to "KGBGRAPHICS.COM" instead of
"A Fistful of Stamps?"
A. Our credit card processing merchant account is held by Kamikazi Graphix Bureau: KGB, DBA KGBgraphics.com.   A Fistful of Stamps is operated under the KGBgraphics.com name.    All credit card transactions are handled by KGBgraphics.

Q. Who writes these wise ass answers???
A. A trained monkey named Jo Jo.  We feed him bananas and day old pizza.
He gets frisky on Fridays.
   Mind your toes.
DO NOT TAUNT THE MONKEY!

Q. What happens if I place an order and an item that  I request is out of stock?
A. Well don't panic.    We'll get in touch with you and ask how you'd like to resolve the situation.   We can offer you an alternative item, wait until the item is again in stock, or refund that portion of your order.   It's up to you...        please be sure your contact information is accurate when filling out the order form.   - Thank ye.

Q. Why does my credit card keep getting rejected?
A. Well...  we don't want to assume you're at your credit limit, but... you might want to check on that.    However... the most likely reason is a new fangled thing called an  ADDRESS VERIFICATION SYSTEM.    Our credit card payment system checks your credit card billing address against the payment address you provide us.    I tell ya what partner, if they're not the same, our system will kick that bad boy out faster than a cheetah going after bushman with a backpack full of Friskies.™     That's a sure thing, amigo!

Q. Do you guys really want to see "spammers" hung by the neck until dead?
A. Yes we do.

Q. Do you do custom stamps?
A. No we don't.

Q. Do you have a stamp of a cute little fuzzy bunny?
A.

-- NO! --    And we don't plan to unless he's got an Uzi in his paw or he's wearing a crash helmet, or... something like that.       Shall we say it one more time?

NO CUTE FUZZY BUNNIES HERE!

Q. What's your favorite Bugs Bunny episode?
A. "What's Opera Doc?"          ...because of "Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit!!!!" of course.

Q. How do I get one of my questions listed here?
A. ...Contact us.    We'll respond directly, and if you're question happens to be helpful to other folks we'll add it to this list.
